9mos old now

Another week of fun, and mischief.  Shakti met new friends, explored new areas, worked hard and played hard
We decided to take advantage of a gorgeous day one afternoon and went exploring on the "Peaks" The changing leaves, the beautiful views, the warm weather, a nice hike, and some quality time together

Having a fun time at camp with her friends.  I'm  told what a social butterfly she is.  Making friends with just about anyone canine or human.

Here she is playing with one of her gal pals-Ms.  Ruffles.  I love that she has someone to run with and play hard with.
This girl is such a sweetheart.  She loves to play and run and jump and chase, but she also loves to come right up to you and get cuddled up, she sometimes just wants to be a lap dog.  And well, I let her,  we all need a hug and to feel loved

So happy you are having fun baby girl.  I love you.

Another puppy vacation

Another puppy vacation and she managed to meet herself a boyfriend.  Tristan is 13 to her 9months, but according to staff at the kennel they did not leave each other's sides.

And not that I can blame her.  He's a good looking guy
There he is in the photo behind her.  What a hoot they are

And again just running around, playing, laughing together.
Staff said that she would not go on a walk without him, would wait if he needed to rest, and wanted to be with him at all times

Check out that swagger.  What a flirt.  I see you strutting your stuff.

Happy she had a fun.

Doggy Vacay

Shakti, spent several days vacationing with friends over at Cinder Hills.  They do a great job socializing the dogs, and making sure they are out, having a great time.

She loves the water as long as it's not falling from the sky.

An intense game of "Duck, Duck Goose"  Run, Shakti,  it looks like your friend may tag you
I'm curious what she is geared up for in this one.  She sure looks like she is ready to pounce.
What a goof.  Love the tongue out of the mouth.  Focused and ready to go
So much fun playing in water.  Make sure you share, Shakti.  That water is for everyone
So much fun running around with the dogs, she seems to have forgotten that she has to behave on the leash.
She looks so grown up in this one.  Like she owns the place.  Miss queen.
And off for some more running around
Just hanging with a few of her pals.  What a good looking group of friends.

And then off for some more running with another friend.  She has so much fun.  Even exhausted she doesn't want to leave.

Doggy Daycare and More

The adventures with Shakti continue.  She had her first experience with doggy day camp and absolutely loved it.  It's near impossible to get her to leave.  She has to walk around and say bye to everyone.  Soaking up all the love and attention.  Such a social butterfly.  I'm happy she is having so much fun

Rough housing with one of her friends.  Play nice baby girl
Oh my what a flirt.  She loves the big dogs.  The other dog doesn't seem so sure about her.
So much fun happening at doggy daycare.  I love that they snap photos throughout the day
Nothing is stopping this girl.  No wings no problem.
My diving rod.  Not sure how she always finds the water.
We went for nice hike in Sedona.  She did awesome.  I was super impressed.  She didn't pull on the leash.  She didn't jump on kids that came to pet her.  Definitely made mamma proud.

Having a lot of fun and adventures exploring our corner of the world together and yes, she is allowed to return to doggy daycare.

Emergency Visit

Shakti had her first visit to the ER.  Not sure what she managed to cut herself on, but somehow ended up with a laceration on her back side.

She never even seemed to notice it was there.  In fact even after a few hours at the vet, sedation, wound debridement, sutures, and a stylin' new hair cut she has not once paid attention to the area.
Poor baby girl.  Still a bit groggy from her sedation.
Even recovering from her ordeal she does not want to be by herself.  It's ok to lay down Shakti.  I promise I'm not going anywhere, and will be right with you.   Feel better.  I love you.

Puppy Fun

The last few weeks have held a lot of excitement for Shakti.  We have been venturing and exploring.  Attempting new adventures.  Finally took her to the dog park which went much better than I expected
Shakti loved playing with all the different dogs, big, small she is super social and had a great time running around

We still need to work on some behaviors though.  She seems to forget all of her commands.  Yes, I get that she is having fun and the other dogs are much more exciting than me...
but, when I say come it's time to come.  When I say leave it... leave it.  I hear it's all about repetition.  Here's hoping she gets it soon

Shakti saw a puppy that looked just like her while at the  dog park and she just fell in love.  She followed the little guy around, let him jump all over her.  The two were quite the pair

What a good girl playing with the puppy
... we also went to visit where her mom lives and meet her family.  Here she is sharing some food with Pearl
And exploring the yard with Tank
And bonding with her mom Juniper.  She got along great with everyone exploring the sites and meeting friends.
cooling off after a long day.

We've had some fun these past few weeks.  Excited for more adventures together

Puppy!

Can't believe this was just three months ago.  She is now 46lbs!! and officially has been given the clear that everything looks great from being spayed.

Wow.  We are finally getting somewhere.  I am thrilled.  Actually, had a few guests over and Shakti did not jump up. She walked up, super excited, shaking her body, waging her tail but did not attempt to bowl them over.  It is exciting to know that consistency really does pay off
We have decided to continue with her education.  As I keep telling her you can't just rely on your good looks in life.  You have got to have brains and heart too.  So far we are working on walking with the leash and this specific technique really does seem to be working.  Yes, have a bit more work to do, but we've had moments where she has walked right next to me, leash loose, pacing with me.  This is a huge step forward.
Playing Goldilocks one night.  She could not decide where to sleep
Sorry Shakti, you know that this not an option.  Off the couch baby girl
Seriously, this does not look comfortable.  Guessing the floor felt nice and cool
She has a pretty active social life.  Actually think she may have more friends than me.   Here she is with her cousin Biscuit.  A French Bulldog.  He is a bit possessive with the food, and she is crazy jumping up and down, pouncing on him and being a bit of puppy f*#$ker.
Yet, they seem to enjoy being around each other.  I know she does.  She just wants to be friends with everyone-canine, human, even the neighbors cat.
Enjoying a family outing playing in the woods.

Shakti is now on Instagram (shaktipuppy) for anyone that is interested.
